Biography

 

I have been working in Art education for over 20 years. After seven years of running art history tours of Europe for the world's most rigorous educational travel company I became a studio art teacher.  After fifteen years of classroom teaching I am enjoying my job and life more than ever.

I speak 7 languages. I am fluent in: English, French&  Italian and can have a chat in Spanish, German, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Get students to feel good about what they can do.

  • Help students learn that they can teach themselves anything.

Workshop leader

I have delivered workshops and lectures for a variety of organizations including the International Baccalaureate Organization, The International Student Theatre Association, Goldsmiths University and The Guild of IB educators.

How to be creative? @NerdNite New York. 

I had a great time sharing my thoughts on the creative process at this fun, educational charity nights at  Littlefield, Brooklyn and gave the same talk in London at the Museum of Childhood.

For 3 years I was the only full time Secondary Art teacher at YCIS Beijing teaching Year 9-13, IGCSE & IB Art.

During this time my students achieved the school's top scores in IGCSE, IB and Extended Essay.

During this period my student Jason achieved the top IGCSE score in Hong Kong, two students achieved 100%  and our department scored 65% A Star in IGCSE Art exams.  I led the department through accreditation process for Cambridge and the IB DP.
